Battle Report...

A small scouting party was attacked while in orbit of a FGZ home world. The party were lost and were only stopping to ask for directions to Dogleg, the colony not only opened fire first but called up a few Baseships for good measure. The crews were quick to respond and started to fire back and up to seven FGZ ships ran away in fright after seeing so many ships in one place at one time. The dark of space was bright with light from the guns and missiles of over a hundred ships, fighting for their existence, their breath, their being. Death was hard at work on both sides. A pause in the battle revealed the death and destruction of the biggest battle in recorded history. Ships lay still among the debris and remains, the glow of the fires casting an eerie light. What now? I can hear the radio chatter, asking for help, more ships, weapons and supplies of all sorts.....................

Stellar Mining and Smelting Press Release.
In week 198.18, the Board of Directors was presented with an ultimatum from the Flagritz nation. The Board is convinced that acceptance of this ultimatum would lead to little else than a life under Flagritz slavery for our outer colonies. Such an existence is not acceptable to us. As of week 198.25 the Stellar Mining and Smelting Company has entered into active warfare against the Flagritz nation. It is our sincere belief that only through force of arms can we preserve freedom of mind and of action in the solar systems affected by the Flagritz ultimatum. We shall not put down our weapons until such time as we see that the Flagritz nation is no longer a direct threat to the continued freedom of our people. About six months ago or there abouts an FET unarmed 'Merchant' was attacked and lost due to RIP activity.
( Further details of vessel name and system this atrocity was conducted will be disclosed in a future press release). This unprovoked attack killed Argonius Damocles's wife Countessa Cellina Damocles whom was a passenger aboard this vessel this left Argonius and his two daughters Titania and Isobella grief stricken.
Argonius Damocles and his family 'request' from the RIP murderers a compensation sum of $1,000,000 and the Captain responsible handed over for trail, the charges are Piracy and Murder, Argonius Damocles has promised a swift and just trail for the perpetrator, if this 'request' is not met then this may lead to dire circumstances, which Argonius does not wish to occur if possible.

As result of the escalation by the Flagritz Republic to a general war against the Empire and our allies the Imperial Viceroy has removed all DTR ships from the ISP posted list and has granted permission for any Detinus Republic ships that choose to assist their Dominion allies by way of trade or armed force to freely enter the borders of the Empire, excepting the Capellan (1) system, with immediate effect.

Reports are coming in that the combined forces of the Empire and their Stalwart friends the DOM have meet with an ambush from combined Confed forces. After leaving orbit of the FGZ homeworld, the battle weary fleet was cunningly ambushed by the cowardly Confeds, Roughly 30 Confed battleships lay in wait for the fleet of remaining Empire merchant vessel's and Damaged capital ships. The hastily and vastly undertrained Confed crews could not match upto the training of the Empires finest. The Battle was hard fought and although the Confederate forces were fresh and eager for battle they suffered terrible losses. 7 of their Battleships were destroyed in the fighting and 6 were derelicted. The Imperial SOL Benedictus was the only IMP ship to be destroyed having already suffered at the hands of the FGZ, the FET lost a yacht to photon gun fire and another 7 allied vessels were derelicted. Once the smoke cleared, the FGZ then attacked the Empire's forces with two Baseships, these were quickly destroyed while the Confed forces looked on in stunned silence. This reporter is shocked, that while the FGZ attempt to wipe-out humanity the Confeds sit back and nurse their wounds. Could it be the Confed pretender has already been made a lapdog of the FGZ as well as the RIP?? The Viceroy has approved the following honours and awards subsequent to the recent fleet actions in the Inferno system.

[Admiral] "Report, What the hell is going on?"
[Ensign] "A large fleet has just jumped into our location, sir!"
[Admiral] "Fleet? What Fleet? Is It The Flagpole Fleet?"
[Ensign] [Roles his eyes upwards]"I think you mean the Flagritz, sir."
[Admiral] "Yes!, Yes! Whoever! Is It these Flagritz Chaps?"
[Ensign] "No Sir, That Battle Took Place Last Week."
[Admiral] "Last Week, Why didn't someone wake me?"
[Ensign] "We tried to sir, but you wouldn't let go of the bottle."
[Admiral] "Ahem, yes well, you know pressure and all"
[Ensign] [sniggers] "ohh yes sir, you've been under a lot lately"
[Admiral] "Anyway, [Waving his hand at the Screen] who are these fellows then?"
[Ensign] "These are the Confederates sir!"
[Admiral] "Confederates?,[flicking through pages] nothing mentioned about these chaps in my Superior Imperial Training Manual [tm]."
[Ensign] "Well sir, they are our Arch enemies, you know Rolling Thunder, The Brotherhood, CIA?"
[Admiral] "News to me, anyway, what now, do we chat with them?"
[Ensign] [sighs] "No sir, Viceroy Simms has order us to attack them"
[Admiral] [gasps] "ATTACK them!!, but there are so many and their ships are so much bigger than ours, are you sure ensign?"

[Admiral] [Starts to read orders aloud, using his finger to move across the sentence] "To All Ships, Attack anything that moves"

[Ensign] "Sir two BHD ships are moving to intercept!!"

As the Flagritz have chosen to scrap their treaty with the Imperial Services the Imperial Viceroy has declared them to be Enemies of the Empire in accordance with Section 8 paragraph II of Imperial Law. For the duration of the current war any Flagritz position sighted in a system where space battle is permitted or possible can expect to be engaged on sight. After the conclusion of the current general war all Flagritz position sighted within the borders of the Empire will be subject to posting in accordance with the provisions of Section 8, paragraph II of Imperial law.

Imperial Law Section 8, paragraphs I and II of Imperial Law are hereby amended as below.

Seems that Pirate King Saggy the 1st forgot he had a breakfast meeting with a number of his Raiding Crews this morning....Arriving some ten minutes early the Pirate Captains entered the Royal Suite, rather tastefully decorated with nubile pleasure slaves and shiny baubles, only to find their leader huddled in the corner in a poorly fitting brown robe, not a parrot or red sash in sight, muttering something about the True One....
Now please don't get us wrong, we "legitimate businessmen" have nothing whatsoever against religion, those who practice it nor the True One Himself! In fact we are probably amongst his favourite peoples, since we do send him rather a lot of converted souls... Well I think they're converted, 'cos usually the last thing they say is - "Oh True One please don't let them shoot me !" - just before we shoot them! Anyway, we Pirates don't mind a bit of good old religion, and some of those dirges and chants can be quite catchy, although we don't go in for the full "sack-cloth and ashes" routine ourselves, makes a mess of the flouncy shirts, and gives the parrot asthma. But not minding it and actually being faced with finding your King grovelling around on the floor is a totally different matter! Deeply shocked by this apparent conversion to religion the massed Captains forced an immediate coup and poor Sagy was marched out and shot! Now in organisations such as ours this does tend to happen from time to time, and the power moves from Captain to Captain, not as much as in the FET mind, but then that's another story <g> anyway before a new King can be chosen we have to go through the time honoured right of succession.... This deeply moving and traditional ceremony has been re-enacted for many hundreds of years, since our forefathers sailed the ancient oceans of earth, and although a very complex and involving ritual it is in fact amazingly simple- the new pirate King is which ever Captain happens to have the biggest number of heavily armed troops in port, and who can then summon them to the Royal Suite quickest, in order to beat the crap out of anyone who disagrees with him becoming King! After a relatively bloodless ceremony, with only a brief scuffle for old Sagy's solid gold cod-piece, looks very fetching Captain Chalcot <g>, and a couple of broken arms, (hey wouldn't be the same without at least one punchup !) I, Dalton, Soldier of Fortune, have seized the Crown! At least I will have, as soon as I can prize it out of this buggers dead fingers...Did we have to shoot him quite so many times ? Yuk what am I stepping in! Anyway, interested parties can rest assured that your friendly local thugs will soon be available for muggings, robbery, raids, murder, weddings, funerals (usually yours) and barmitzvas! See you real soon! Oh by the way, to those of you in the AFT, thanks for the colonists - they made excellent workslaves !

To: The Aggressive and Overconfident Aliens that makeup the Incompetent Flagritz Leadership

I see that Flagritz Leaders have finally showed the courtesy to approach the Dominion, if yet through an indirect route. They appear shocked about the alleged 'Dominion aggression' as they put it. The demand that the Dominion publicly explain why the Flagritz nation have declared a Universal War on us! Well I can't explain that, but I can explain a great lot of other things. Some months ago the Flagritz Nation issued a Declaration in which they contested the Imperial ownership of certain systems. The Dominion only heard about this through the very short message released by public media's. For weeks I patiently waited for some communication from the Flagritz Leadership, which would tell me and the rest of the Dominion the impact this Declaration would have on Dominion ships, colonies and outposts in a number of Imperial systems. We did not know which systems which were contested at that time. In the weeks following the Flagritz Declaration I heard countless rumours about the 'new, harsh terms' offered by the Flagritz Nation to the colonies in the systems they captured, there were rumours about neutral ships being posted, etc. And my anxiousness increased. After these weeks had passed I was offered a copy of the Flagritz Declaration by one of the Imperial Chartered Affiliation. In which there were a number of disturbing things:
The Flagritz demanded that all colonies and outposts in the contested systems owned by non-IMP positions had to register themselves with the Flagritz, if these position were to avoid being attacked later. There was a certain time-limit to this which expired weeks ago. How did the Flagritz Nation expect the Dominion to register their colonies and outposts when we had not been informed of such? I have to this date not received a single message from the Flagritz Leadership about this issue, and I have seen even less messages about this on public forums. I can only see this a one thing, the Flagritz have neglected us on purpose with the hostile intent of attacking Dominion positions when the systems were secured by the Flagritz. There were also a number of terms for the colonies that did register themselves and wished to stay. These were terms that would render any colony defenceless and easy prey to pirates and the like. There were also a heavy taxation that would make most colonies uneconomical to maintain. There were strict travel restrictions with exact routes to follow, more easy targets for the Pirates. No new permits for outposts and colonies. All in all, highly unacceptable terms to the Dominion. We have plans for this area of space, plans that will continue unhindered by the current rulers, plans that would have to be cancelled with the Flagritz as rulers. With all the preparations wasted as the result. Another issue that scares me and which should scare a lot of other affiliations, is the ruthless desire of the Flagritz to expand their territory, preferably aggressive. It is clear to anyone with brains(or similar organs) that the Flagritz desire more systems, more control, more power. It should be clear to everyone after reading their Declaration that the Flagritz are and will be uncaring rulers. Seeking only to exploit the people foolish enough to stay in their systems, gathering more and more resources to fuel their ever-increasing Machine of War. With the current lust for more power the Flagritz are currently displaying by owning just two system, what will their lust be when they control 10? When they control the Capellan Periphery? The Darkfold Periphery? Unstoppable, they will be, their Baseships crushing all opposition, their Security Bots patrolling the streets of your colonies. Have Fear fellow Humans and aliens, for this is Real. With this is in mind and after being approached by the Imperials with a request for defensive help, a decision was made to aid the Imperials in defending their systems and protect our own assets in the process. And if offence is the best defence, that's what we will do. I would also like to take this opportunity to say that the Dominion do not yet share the view held by various fractions within the Empire, that the Flagritz are to be exterminated. We will only see the destruction of the Flagritz abilities to wage war in the future. It is our belief that it is the current Flagritz Leadership is cause of all the evil that's currently with in the Flagritz Nation. And to the people of the Flagritz nation I will say: Revolt! Overthrow your Leaders! They are causing and will be causing even more harm to you. The chance for peace is there, take it! This has been a statement released from The Office of the Dominion Overlord.
