From: Zuvoro Norozov, FET Space Defence VP

It has recently been brought to my attention that there are a number of PDs who think the FET should not have control of a large warfleet. The FET profile allows for a Space Defence Vice President position, which would suggest we're allowed to defend our assets. So when I took over the position I looked around for the best way to do this. I came to the conclusion that a fast space fleet was needed. The best ship around at the time was and to me still is the IMP Ship of the Line. So a deal was done in which the IMP supply us with the ship, in exchange we are called on to assist them in any disputes they may be caught up in. As the FET has always pledged loyalty to the IMP from our founding this was no problem. In the last nine months we have been called upon to help twice. Both times against Darkfold affiliations, actually the first time should have been against the RIP, but a small group of BHD ships got in the way. My point is this, the Frontier Patrol Group was not set up to look for trouble. It is there to protect FET assets in the peripheries. Also because the FEET is a business and needs to show a profit, I would like to offer the services of the Patrol Group to all affiliations (due to the current political climate Darkfold affiliations and RIP need not apply). Things like convoy protection against pirates or guarding a valuable but weak colony are just two missions out of many we can perform. Terms of payment can be negotiated on a mission by mission basis. Again please don't worry, the Patrol Group will not cause trouble for any affiliation unless any FET owned assets are attacked. if you wish to ask any questions or contact me about a mission you wish us to undertake contact me via: Ted Pratt, 6 Napier Road Hurndean, Hants, P08 9LR. Tel. (01705) 597814. Thank you for your time.

From - Minister Eirik Raude, SMS Yggdrasil.
Subject - Bio-Chemists looking for jobs.

A number of biochemists have just graduated from the academies of Yggdrasil, and are looking around for meaningful employ. These, the elite of periphery scientists, will be made available to any interested employer (well, within reason).
As most are aware, biochemists are used for the manufacturing of Field Labs, wonders of modern science that make possible the extraction of many unique materials. They are also a great asset to the exploration-minded starcaptain as their skills can be put to great use in the field. No exploration ship is complete without one.
You can have one of these in your survey party, or at your colony, for the delivery of a mere untooled factory to our colony. Or, to put it in another way, for every untooled factory you deliver to our colony.
we will let you have one biochemist. Of course, there is a limited number of them, so you will have to contact the governor in advance to enquire about availability. This offer is only open to those allowed to trade in the Kastorian systems, with the notable exception of pirates. The governor reserves the right to turn down any offer without naming a reason.

Our colony, SMS Yggdrasil (2732), is located on planet Asgard (643) in the Skord(171) system. It does have a Hi-Port. We look forward to welcoming your ship. Eirik Raude, minister of Yggdrasil

From: Patriarch Kyrt Furey, Leader of the Clan Council.

The following ships that bear the following registry numbers are now considered enemies of the Clan Council: 802, 4475, 1468. But 456 is off the hook. Clan military forces will hunt down and destroy these ships. However, we would welcome any help that you could give. So we have placed a bounty of 500,000 Stellars, which will be given to whoever destroys these ships.

From: Lt Jan Thorre, Imperial Officer

If, there, is any truth in your allegations, that members of the Imperial forces, tortured and slaughtered colonists at Tate!...and it is, not, propaganda, it is, certainly not typical, and can only be a minority of rouge officers, who do NOT, represent our beloved Emperor, and do not faithfully serve him!!.
I, personally, would not participate in or condone, such, or similar actions, for any reason!
I am a man of honour and caring, and I am sure most others are likewise!!!. Another matter I would like to comment on, is a subject raised by your own press bureau, use of Ion cannons!...Just for the record, I, myself do not, or would not have Ion Cannons aboard my, vessel, although, at the same time I would not preach to any fellow officers, who did have them....as they are not necessarily, bloodthirsty, as there are innocuous reasons to have them, such as unavailability of other
weaponry, or limited Mu spare!!. Finally!, expressions such as "wImperials", and "Yellow Stains" are the product of an infantile, and misguided mind; and if that is the persona of someone of, your position, that does not say very much for your subordinates.

(I take no responsibility for the punctuation of the above, but I did fix the spelling mistakes for you...infantile and misguided minds....snigger. [ed]).

Re: Indestructible(532)

Following negotiations with the FET, the FET have agreed to hand back the Frigate to its rightful owners. The FET have also agreed to pay the fine in full. Hopefully, we will not have to take such measures again, but never let it be said that the Clans do not believe in justice.
This means that relations between the FET and the Clans are now almost back to normal.
I thank all parties for their understanding in this matter.

THIS IS AN OFFICIAL AFT STATEMENT REGARDING OUR INVOLVEMENT IN THE INCIDENT WITH THE FGZ AT THORAX.
The AFT colony on this planet was supporting the GTT colony, not expecting that there would be FGZ vessels on the posted lists of Imperially Chartered affiliations. The AFT wish to announce their apologies to the FGZ government for breaking the treaty that we have in existence with them, and to the families of the FGZ navigators killed in this incident, and have taken steps to resolve this incident peacefully. Since this incident, the AFT have reviewed their policy of support and defend.
AFT positions will not place any positions, except AFT, on their support lists unless specifically stated in treaties. Areas where this will happen are noted below:
1) the AFT will support all FCN positions whilst operating inside the borders of the Falconian Empire.
2) Imperially Chartered affiliations and anyone else wishing to fight in space square 1850 of the London (41) system or the orbit of the planet in this square are advised that AFT warships and AFT colony Return (4313) will defend BHD, CIA, DTR and CNF positions here. Also, Imperially Chartered affiliations are banned from landing at this colony, and their vessels will be boarded if they attempt to do so.
This statement has been made to prevent any future misunderstandings.

To: RIP Funky Monk
From: Ludovicus de Fortis, BHD Sect Leader

You have a big mouth, my pirate friend. How pleased I am therefore to be able to snap it firmly shut. Your asinine boast with regard to the capture of the Brotherhood Battleship Blackened was, I take great pleasure in pointing out, wildly premature.
For those that have not grasped the actual flow of events, the BHD Blackened was derelicted and recaptured by ourselves exactly one week after it was boarded by the RIP, as it tried to flee the area. The pirate crew of the Blackened were killed in the fighting. In addition, the RIP Explicit Lyrics, a piratical warship that attempted to beat a path for the Blackened, was destroyed with the loss of all hands by Brotherhood forces and our Detinus allies. The Explicit Lyrics, loaded out with four batteries of Ion Cannons, failed to injure a single allied crewman or soldier.
The ambush of the Blackened was a fluke, perpetrated by pirates who have grown complacent in the mistaken belief that all they need do is capture ships - that making their getaway is easy. To some extent this belief has been justified, as affiliations give up on captured ships owing to the logistics of preventing their escape. The Brotherhood does not give up so easily and I want to make it absolutely clear that we will pursue captured ships, contest derelicts and substantially reinforce ambushed vessels in every known instance. Derelicting a starship is relatively easy. Making good your escape will not be, because we're going to hound you every battle-torn step of the way.
Incidentally, if you haven't got the guts to face the AFT, you'd better give up on us before you start.

Since it seems to be the trend, I hereby present you with a shameless plug for the SMS web site. It has a comprehensive item listing with heaps of tech manual entries and other info, an exhaustive ship class listing, a much-debated history of the peripheries (see what the hype is all about and make up your own mind!), the SMS profile and other SMS info, links to all other affiliation home pages, a list of SMS colonies and several SMS market reports, jump maps and system maps for the Capellan Periphery and a couple of other nifty things. You will find this grand site here. -----------------------------------------------------------------

What follows is an official Brotherhood announcement

The Brotherhood of the True One wishes to let it be known that we have withdrawn from Kastorian space. This sad turn of events has been prompted by the despotic and arbitrary nature of the Kastorian Military Junta. Furthermore, we wish to make clear the fact that the Brotherhood no longer considers the Kastorian Military Junta to be a neutral affiliation. We therefore recognise neither the Yank nor the Skord system as constituting neutral space and withhold the right to dispense summary justice as we see fit to enemies of the Brotherhood traversing or colonising there.

While the Brotherhood regrets the nature of our withdrawal, we intend to establish that it is the inevitable result of ceaseless Kastorian victimisation. Until such a time as the KAS concede to a written agreement on the duties, responsibilities and intricacies of their territory, and abandon the practice of arbitrary threats, "fines" and edicts with hindsight, we pity the affiliations that have made the mistake of colonising or patronising either Yank or Skord and laying themselves open to whimsical blackmail at the business end of the Kastorian system weapon.

The Brotherhood has, and has had, no colony in either Yank or Skord. We should report that we are therefore surprised at the arrogance of the Kastorian Military Junta who have evidently taken to believing that they have somehow been appointed independent umpire of the Rebellion War, imbued with the power to threaten, blackmail and legitimately "fine" organisations from either side, whether they have settled in their territory or not.

In response to the recent Kastorian announcement, establishing that the Brotherhood will be permitted back into Yank and Skord once we can obey KAS directives at all times, I should point out that the Brotherhood has no intention of obeying any KAS directives at any time. We do not recognise the authority of the Junta to issue directives to the Brotherhood at all. Mr Broud should recognise that the peace in Kastorian territory is not maintained by directive, but by consent.

The Brotherhood does not fear the Kastorian Military Junta or their spies. We therefore await with interest the nature of KAS reprisals for Brotherhood vessels that violate Kastorian space. Incidentally, we would like to make clear the fact that any vessels suspected of reporting the movements of Brotherhood vessels in Kastorian space to Mr Broud will be considered to be acting contrary to our interests. Such vessels will be posted, hunted to earth and destroyed.

To: The People of the Peripheries
From: Commander Harkon Heartripper

Greetings, The Falconian Empire have been considering our position in the Peripheries of late and are willing to make public our current stance.

* We currently have no interest of acquiring territory.
* We are attempting to secure our position both politically and physically - in order to seal our stance as neutral.
* We wish to finish trade negotiations with all races/Affiliations.
* We currently have no interest in beginning or joining an armed conflict between any parties.
* It is the Falconian wish that we can begin to colonise all Peripheries.

The Falconians would also like to address the CNF Declaration with regard to FCN entrance to the Darkfold:

* We respect totally their views and their declaration.
* We thank them for their generous gift of allowing us to access the Wormhole terminus whilst it is in their space.
* In return for the aforementioned gift the FCN would like to discuss with the CNF limited access to FCN space etc. Such matters will be discussed in private.

I hope the prior point will bring the some understanding between all parties.
Now I would like to address another point :

- FCN Foreign Policy :

* The FCN do not wish to enter into any Military Alliances/War Pacts at this time:
a) We are entering into a policy of Splendid Isolation - we have no wish to engage in any form of conflict unless Falconian Assets are at stake.
* The FCN will not engage in the provocation of another party into Armed Conflict.
* The FCN will only consider an Armed response to an incident if we are adversely affected by it.
* The FCN has absolutely no interest in entering into the politics of the Confederates and the Imperials
and would rather that in the event of these two sides entering into a War with the other that neither :
A) Call on the FCN for assistance outside of the Falconian Empire
B) Use Acropolis as a military platform from which to strikeout at the latter.
* The FCN would like to point out its opposition to any/all forms of Genocide on any party.
* The FCN will gladly act as Ambassadors between two disputing parties.

I hope the preceding will clear up any misunderstandings etc. Now with regards to trade :

* The Falconians will try to ensure that no party will receive the Alien Plague from any of our positions - Though we accept absolutely no responsibility for a third party delivering the plague to another party.
* We will take every precaution to prevent an outbreak of the Plague.
* We would like to be able to trade with all Affiliations in all Peripheries.
* We are interested in turning Acropolis into a trade centre - and would like to make an offer to consider all future requests of Colonisation permits on an independent basis.

I greatly hope this will bring a greater air of trust between the Falconian Empire and the Aliens of the Peripheries. This is the current Political stance of the Falconians as of week 26 year 197.

Recently the DER Frigate Indestructible was boarded and was reported in subspace static. Mean while the Clan said that the ship was theirs and they had arranged to sell it to the AFT. The latest reports show that the ship has now been given to the AFT but the Clan have fined FET 500K. The FET's board of directors have been discussing the situation and at the moment have no plans to pay this fee. Could this lead to the FET failing to try and keep a 'peaceful' affiliation? Whatever happens it is advised that all FET ships stay out of Cluster until any decisions have been made. Also, early internal reports show that three directors have left FET in as many months. The situation can not exactly be reassuring for FET starcaptains...

From: The Viceregal Palace, Jax. 28/197

The Viceroy congratulates the DTR on breaking away from Samuel and his lickspittles in the Darkfold and recognises the claim of the Detinus Republic to the Systems of Venic, T-Tauri and Arachnid.
Although the Stellar Empire cannot condone the actions of the Detinus rebels in the inner Empire the Viceroy appreciates that they rebelled in support of sincerely held beliefs in a different form of government. Unlike the traitor Samuel and his supporters, who broke their oaths of allegiance in order to usurp another ones legitimately held place as head of the greatest Empire known to mankind. The failure of this attempt, in the light of the Prelate's despotic rule or that open prison that the rest of us call the Darkfold Periphery, is probably the best thing to happen to the Stellar Empire in centuries.
What happens next, will the paranoid Prelate ban his erstwhile allies from his precious prison? Should this happen the Detinus Republic could expect their claim to these new territories to be supported by the Imperial Services, should they not be too proud to ask a former foe to lend a hand in the unlikely event that they could not handle the Prelate's minions on their own.
